Knowledge mobilisation

We want our research to make a difference. And we know that happens when knowledge between different communities is shared to catalyse change. This is known as ‘knowledge mobilisation’ (KM).

Knowledge mobilisation is all about the processes that help research to make an impact.Working closely with the communications officer and others, HPRU knowledge mobilisers aim to:

  • foster relationships between professionals from universities, UK Health Security Agency (formerly Public Health England), local public health and more widely
  • train, educate and support staff affiliated with our HPRU to help them make a difference
  • develop knowledge mobilisation capacity in and the capability of HPRUs across the country through participation in the pan-HPRU KM Network.

We help researchers to answer three questions:

  1. What do you want to be different because of your research?
  2. Who are the people who can make this happen and how can you engage them?
  3. How can you and they make it happen?
